FAQs for Tibet Self Drive Tour
Is it possible to find a better place for the Night in Rongbuk, as we don’t like yurts and tents.
As suggested in the itinerary, we will stay at Tashiczong village, which is very close to the bus terminal of Everest Base Camp, and the qualities of the hotels there are best, no comparison with the yurts. Even they have oxygen supply in the room and the altitude is lower than base camp.
Is it possible to visit Namtso Lake, Pichutso Lake?
Yes, you can visit Namtso and Pichu lake. Pichu lake is on our way in or out around Everest Base Camp, while Namtso Lake need to organize our itinerary differently. This is our part of job, just let us know.
Is it possible to take a different route from Lhasa to Shigatse?
Yes, we will take the scenic route through Yamdrok lake and Karola Glacier from Shigatse to Lhasa, and the traffic of this route is much more quiet than the G318 national road. No matter you choose the Namtso or not, Thrust Adventure take the different route to Shigatse from Namtso, and Shigatse to Everest Base Camp and continue to Gyirong border point.
Are there photography stops possible?
During this journey, we can stop at beautiful viewpoints where we will stop. As well as, photography points managed by tourism beauty of Tibet, can be used with local attractions with basis fees. Don’t worry Thrust Adventure know all the photography points along this route.
Do Thrust Adventure have any alternatives with comfortable stay rather than 5000m Everest Base Camp ?
As no one is happy to sleep at Rongbuk at 5000m on. Yes we offer! With Thrust Adventure, we will make your night comfortable with altitude too. You don’t need to sleep over 5000 meters anywhere in our itinerary, unless you want to challenge yourself. With our India Nepal Tibet Self Drive Expedition we stay in Tashiczong for that night at the altitude of 4300m.
